A case of adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lacrimal gland

Abstract

|
I experienced a 19-year-old-male who had progressive proptosis of right eye for 1 year. Orbita computed tomography demonstrated a relatively well defined mass in superotemporal quadrant of the right orbit.
We performed surgical removal of the tumor and radiation therapy.
The tumor was defined as an adenoid cystic carcinoma by histopathologic examination. After operation we experienced two times local recurrence of tumor and metastasis to the brain. So I present this case as a model of poor prognosis in adenoid
cystic
carcinoma of the lacrimal gland.
